How does licensing work?
There is nothing to activate. Neither the SDK nor the server checks a license at runtime, and no key is issued. Below the free thresholds you owe nothing. Above them, LM-Kit.NET is licensed per application you build and LM-Kit One per deployment, each scoped by its own order.
Does one Professional License cover both LM-Kit.NET and LM-Kit One?
Not by itself. The same agreement sets the terms for both products, and each Professional License is scoped by its order: an application or product family for LM-Kit.NET, a deployment for LM-Kit One. A team using both receives one proposal covering both.
How is Professional pricing determined?
Professional pricing follows the product, the capabilities you license, the scope they cover, an application or product family for LM-Kit.NET or a deployment for LM-Kit One, and the support level you need. Contact us with those details and we reply with a proposal.
What if I build multiple products?
Your order names the applications or product family it covers. An independently marketed second product is additional scope, and one proposal can cover several products.
Do I need a new license for updates?
While your subscription is current, updates, patches and new versions of the applications named in your order are covered. The scope is the application, not a version.
Are there limits on distribution?
Distribution rights are stated in your order. For a software publisher they follow the application or product family licensed and the channels it ships through. Tell us how you distribute and the proposal states the rights that cover it.
Can I use the free tier commercially?
Yes, when the company that benefits from production use qualifies: under $1M USD annual gross revenue, 10 or fewer employees, no more than $3M USD raised from outside investors, assessed together with its parents, subsidiaries and affiliates. Eligibility follows the company the software is built for, not the company writing the code. A freelancer or agency under the thresholds building for a client above them does not make that client eligible, and the free redistribution right covers your own products, not custom development delivered to a client. Free production use requires a clearly visible acknowledgement of LM-Kit on the product's website or in its documentation.
What if my company is above those thresholds?
Evaluation and development remain free at any company size, with no time limit. A Professional License is required for production use and redistribution. A company that crosses a threshold keeps the free grant for 90 days, time to agree an order without interrupting production.
I'm a freelancer or agency building for a client. Whose license is it?
The client's. Production use is assessed against the entity that owns or commissions the application, not against who writes the code. Development stays free for you at any size; if your client is above the free thresholds, the client needs a Professional License to run the application in production.
Are there per-developer or per-seat fees?
A Professional License is priced on the scope it covers, not on developers or seats. Your order states that scope.
Is LM-Kit.NET affordable for small companies?
Below the free thresholds you pay nothing. Above them the fee follows the scope of your project, and a small company receives a proposal sized to that scope. Tell us about your project and we reply with one.
